I couldn’t go back to sleep because the words from the Chris Rice Song kept
going through my mind. I figure if
something is THAT stuck in my head, it is there for a reason, so I thought I
needed to share the words:

I shared on my Facebook Page the Candle that would be lit TODAY on the
Advent Wreath is the Candle of Peace.
We don’t associate PEACE with the last few days before Christmas because we
are so STRESSED over last minute preparations…BUT how appropriate that someone
down through history decided that THIS DAY should be the day to reflect on
PEACE…
DID the Angel’s waste their words? I
have thought about these words for four days since I last heard this song. Is there PEACE on EARTH? Gun violence, Lifestyle bashing, Drunk
Driving, Natural catastrophes, Job woes, Healthcare Issues, President Bashing,
Government Bashing, Civil Wars, on and on and on…HOW can we EVEN utter the word
PEACE among all this!
We can all probably quote a dozen sayings about PEACE, but my favorite is
that PEACE is NOT the absence of WAR, it is the PRESENCE of Justice. SOMETIMES we must stand up for what is RIGHT…A
MAJOR problem with this is that so many people THINK they are right. Because of this, I personally take this one
step further in my thinking…PERHAPS I am RIGHT, but under no circumstance do I
have ENTITLEMENT to demand that OTHERS believe as I do. I must treat others as I wish to be
treated. Since I live in a society with
other people, I have to tolerate some things that I don’t like. I have to LOVE people that I disagree
with. With LOVE comes a greater
responsibility and with LOVE comes RESPECT. Respect means that I can under no circumstance
EVER belittle another person. LOVE does NOT mean I have to LIKE what others do
or profess to be, BUT I have to be an EXAMPLE of Christ’s love to them AND it
must be SINCERE. GOD has the last
word. PERIOD.
I know of ONLY one way to have PEACE…it is through Christ. It is a PEACE that passeth ALL understanding
and it is AVAILABLE to all who wish to have it.
It is VERY simple…Just ASK Christ into your heart…Blessings to YOU…~charlotte♥
