About Me

My photo
I LOVE to design and to paint whimsical items that will put a smile on your face. Each day I share my simple life with you as I try to encourage, to inspire and sometimes JUST to make you smile as I recount my life growing up on a dairy farm! I've never had many material items in my life, BUT I have been blessed beyond words with love and encouragement from WONDERFUL Parents who instilled in me WHAT was important. I have had EVERYTHING that I needed and WAY too much of what I wanted. I am slowly learning to be a better person each day through my interactions with my friends on Facebook. Some day I hope to be as good as people seem to THINK I am! I am BLESSED! Welcome to my little corner of the world...Please stop by and visit often!

Lisa's Blocks

It is the time of year where busy doesn't begin to explain how busy we are!

I thought I would share blocks that I did last year that were inspired by Lisa Wells.

I asked if I could share on my blog, and she said YES!
She was so excited, because, that is the girl that she is--happy!

I am sharing again, this year.

I created a pdf that you can download at the end of this post that has some pictures and line drawings.

Create until your heart is content.
I ask, only, that if you share them, PLEASE give Lisa Wells credit, because, it is the nice thing to do!

I bought my blocks at the Dollar General store in the toy department.

I used, of course, DecoArt Americana paints, and when finished, I put Ice Crystal DecoArt Glamour Dust on them to sparkle. You may add gems, also.

Last year, I gave away at least 30 to those who served me. I placed them in a bag with a fun sized candy bar and a note saying THANK YOU FOR THE JOB YOU DO. I tied the top of the bag with Bakers twine.

I was more blessed by the smiles and hugs that I got!

Sunday, I started giving away some more RAKs. It does my heart good.

I can't change the world, but I can brighter my little corner of the world, one smile at a time.

People don't need a piece of my mind, but, instead, a piece of my heart.

Thank you, Lisa,  for making my world a better place!
I love you and admire you.

I am simply blessed to create AND to have creative friends~charlotte♡

These are the pictures of one's
 that Lisa painted.

Oh, my, goodness...
Aren't they adorable!!

  1. The little blocks I found at DG were kinda slick with a varnish or something. How did you choose to prep yours?

  2. Mine weren't, so I did nothing.
I think the easiest way to prep them, is to use Decoart paint Adhesion in the first coat of base coating. Of course, you can try to sand them, or use Spray Paint Primer on them.

  3. Miss Charlotte thank you so very much! Your blog is awesome.
FYI...I use Deco Art All Purpose Sealer in my first coat of paint. I use the knock off game blocks and they’re easier than the name brand to paint. They doubled in price this year. The name brand may have a finish that you’d have to sand. They are also more pricey.
Paint away dear Charlotte! Have fun!
